On Sunday, it was a big day. A bad day in England however, it was snowing and i was flying back to Cyprus. The journey was smooth though bit bumpy over Greece, but it was so nice to see the sun over the island.
I am quite busy this week and next week, going to interviews, meeting up with freinds and relatives, sorting out bank accounts and plus on the 14th the ship with my stuff arrives in Limassol and boy there are a lot of stuff!!
Anyway, came here for a better life at least better quality of life let’s see how it goes, i can’t wait to get involved with new projects, technologies and to learn much more, apparently Cypriots are not your ordinary “client”. Let’s see.

Just finished a contract, with Great Ormond Street Hospital as a Business Analyst. I loved it there, the job was very interesting and the people there where very very good. It’s amazing how the people you work with bring out the best of you and make you more productive and efficient. After 6.5 years in the UK, studying and working i have decided to move back to my country ,Cyprus, back to the sun.Although i am not that excited for the flight back, however i have a lot of things to look forward to, friends, family, the sun and the quality of life there. This blog/site of course will remain as is. I am moving back to Cyprus in April and currently i have a lot of packing to do hence the end of the contract came at a good time. It was interesting here in the UK, it is one of the best places in the world to gain experience in the IT sector and it has helped me a lot. Cyprus at the moment has a huge growth in the IT field especially since 2004 and now with the EURO. Loads of companies have their offices there including Microsoft,Oracle,IBM,NCR,Deloitte,PWC and many many others. I am currently looking for employment opportunities there so if you have anything in mind let me know!

I was told this story a couple of years back, i don’t know if any of you heard of it before, but i always think bout it and always wonder if things were this simple. It’s a bit off topic but it has a very good ethical meaning to it and i will let you form your own conclusions.
“Some time ago, an American business man went for a summer trip to Jamaica. As he was walking on the beach one day he saw in the distance a Jamaican fisherman cleaning his nets and putting the fish in a big bucket. Curious the man walked towards him and started talking to him:
‘How much time did it take you to catch these fish?’
‘Oh well about an hour’ answers the fisherman.
‘Right, so why didn’t you stay longer to catch twice or even much more than that?’
‘ Because this is all me and my family need to live and have a good life’
‘ And how do you spend the rest of your time? the businessman asked,
‘Oh, i spent a lot of time with my family, i go down to the pub and have a beer with my friends, and then i come back home, play with my kids and spend more time with my wife, as you can see i am a busy man’
The American business man started laughing- ‘You should spend more time fishing catch more fish and the fish you do not need you should sell them and with the money you make,by a bigger boat with bigger nets!’
‘And then what?’ the fisherman asked
‘And then the American businessman continued, you will use the boat, catch more fish, make more money, buy bigger boats’
‘And then?’ the fisherman asked again
‘ It’s quite simple, you make more money, you move to the city, setup your own company, employe a lot of people and make more money. You will buy large ships and make your own fishing fleet and be very very wealthy, within 15-20 years you will be very known and respected and a succesfull business man’
‘ And then?’ the fisherman asked again
‘And then it’s logical, you sell everything, you come to a small island and be in peace, fish a little bit, spend some time with your family, spend some time with friends at the pub and then spend more time with your kids and grankids and your wife…’
………and then the fisherman smiled
